Brrrrrr.. . ! Feel that chill in the air? I guess its time to pack away mini skirts and flip-flops and make way for some warmer, cozier gear. But have no fear, Fall is just as fashionable as any other season. I know that I’ve been
dying to pull out my leggings, riding boots and slouchy sweaters, honey – and stop shaving my legs (but let’s keep that one between us, shall we?)
This month’s issue is BIG…big for several reasons. No.1 being that we’ve welcomed yet another SF baby into the world – our design guru Allium recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and so we would like to extend to her and her family some more heart felt congratulations. And as a treat to her – and, of course, you guys – we had the awesome diva at Awesims create a special gift just for her; The Broyhill Nursery Set (thanks Sarah!). So, make sure you look out for that in our pages as you read on.
Don’t forget to check out this month’s guest collaborator Stradlin Sims’ fashion editorial debut in “The Brothers Grimm” as well as AsiaShaMecca’s exclusive interview with EA’s very own Art Director, Samantha Micelo. Also featured in this month’s fashion editorials, Simanim’s tribute to the fun and funky fashion in “Circus Lights” and Aikea Guinea’s take on Poe’s classic “the Raven”.
As we say goodbye to the fair weather of Summer I would like to take some time to thank all the SF staffers, in particular, my right hand (and left foot AsiaShaMecca. We definitely would not have been able to do this without everyone’s hard work and dedication.
And for that, hugs all around for a job well done!
Ollo! Back again for another dazzling SF opus. Summertime is here!!!
Hurray for packing away those chunky sweaters and heavy boots for swimwear, suntans and sandals. Hurray for Summer vacations and Summer romance! Tis my favorite time of year and we went ALL OUT to bring you the best of Summer fashion, deco and FUN!
Don’t flip through too quickly now… We’ve got your days and nights covered. Savor the sultry playwear of Simeve’s “Summer Nights.” Feeling more girlish? Then the DELISH cotton-candy colored “Sugar Ah by KateSterling should have just the ti bite. “Olympic Gold” a Summer Games tribute by AsiaShaMecca and formal “Dressage” by Allium will take care of your evenings, not to mention the seductive, oh-so-sparkly “Sequin by the Sea” by Dustydreamer for our party girls! And we didn’t forget the menfolk either. *fans self* Previously unreleased content and super HOT spreac Darko Sims and Aiken Guinea are almost too much for a girl!
Speaking of new content, shout out to Awesims for the gorgeous furniture set created especially for her CCC Showcase and the premier of Cbon’s MEGA Balmain collection “Elvis Goes to Spain.” See them here first!!!
New contributors, new content, new interviews with designer shoe darling MASims3 and celebrity Sim maker MMCS and an all new machinima review feature “Reel Reviews”… whew, it’s all here and more! And all for you! We just hope you enjoy this issue at least half as much as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.
Until next time – HAPPY SUMMER!
A lot has happened since our last issue… I got me some awesome shoes (always cheers a girl up), started in on my summer wardrobe (which is looking pretty stunning so far – just gotta get in shape to wear it all) and I had a baby (more reason to get in shape). All of these have made for quite an interesting few weeks. . . and although I did not have much to do with the SF production this issue (yes, I openly admit it), I am proud to say that my peeps (insert gang sign here) managed to pull it all off – sans moi – with flying colors.
This issue is honestly one of my favorites (then again they all seem to be up there, don’t they?). Bursting at the seams with all kinds of new talent, new features and of course new community content. It had me think about going on hiatuses (is that a word?) more often. It’s colorful, fun and oh so SF – and who doesn’t need all of the above once in a while.
Alli starts it all off with a fun artsy piece which showcases another of her many hidden talents – styling. We have new content creator showcases and interviews with Sim designer extraordinaire Miraminkova, oh so smexy Sim maker Chobits and interior diva, Linday. That’s right; we’ve expanded our interiors section too! And as you continue to nip through all the awesomeness, keep a look out for our new-comers, Kate Sterling, Vintage and Simanims, as they strut their stuff in their very first editorials.
Sadly, as we welcome in the newbies, we also prepare to say goodbye and thank you to one of our “older” staffers – Sylent Whysper. You will be sorely missed hun (especially after seeing the awesomeness that is your “Swan Lake” editorial – LOVED IT!).
Last but never least, a special thank you to CBon73 for his gift of the Zuhair Murad Couture Collection. Murad if one of my faves and you outdid yourself on this one my dear! FANTASTIQUE!
Until our next issue – ENJOY!
Despite being plagued with several RL hiccups (seriously, this was the official issue from HELL!), the dedicated team at SF managed to pull it all together and present to you all, yet another to-die-for issue, jam packed with all goodness that our beloved Sims 3 Community has to offer. This latest copy is definitely a hodge-podge of styles and themes, all geared at getting you ready for the warmer weather that is slowly creeping in. . .and if you’re like us. . .you are ready for the opportunity to peel back those layers and breathe again!
In his inaugural spread, DarkoSims starts things up right with his steamy shoot “Show Me How You Burlesque” – letting us in on the steamy side of things. Not hot enough for ya? Then check out Asia’s “Risky Business” – where being naughty never felt so good!
Also featured in this month’s issue, Asia’s must read interview with coveted designer PRADASIMS – where she asks all the questions you been dying to have answered.
Kementari’s return as our Interior design gum features her Fashionable Furnishings for two…an ode to the season oflove!
While Minread features the works of one of the best builders around – the one and only JarkaD. And if that isn’t enough, we welcome two new staff members, the crazy talented KateSterling and SF’s Sims Next Top !Model Winner, Simanims!
DustyDreamer already has Spring on her mind as she features some colorful must-haves for the season in this month’s Fab Finds. And last but not least, don’t forget to look out for some of the amazing shots by this month’s guest photographer – Cbon –
And so we go on to end the year with our “Holiday Issue”. And what a glorious issue it is.
At SF Magazine, we are family and during this time of year (soon after we put this laborious and much loved issue to rest) we all start making our holiday plans and start looking forward to family gatherings. Whether we travel back to om home towns or we jet off to a beautiful destination, one thing rings true; there’s nothing like being with those you love during the holidays. One of the things that I have learned the most while working with my wonderful staff is that no matter what, it’s always important to try to balance your life. Always remember to take time for yourself and make time for your loved ones, because in the end, it’s your family and friends that will always be there for you…and this rings even truer at this time of year.
I know I got all deep there for a second…but let’s get back to business now…OUR HOLIDAY ISSUE IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!! And believe me; SF has you SET for the season.
Featuring some of the holiday’s HOTTEST fashions, this month’s issue is GUARANTEED to have you all wrapped up with holiday cheer. From some of the most awesome-est (look it up!) knits featured in our “Snow Globe” spread by our talented Stylist and Photographer` Allium – to the SEXY and Oh So Yummy “What Lies Beneath” spread by the MISTRESS of “Hot DAMN!” – AsiaShaMecca – and EVERYTHING in between – this issue will most definitely BLOW you away. So go ahead…ring in the celebrations of the season – SF STYLE!
Also, in this months’ “Designer Spotlight”, we managed to snag one of MY personal favourites ILikeMusic64O – for a little one on one conversation.
And wait…that’s not all…check out our interviews with SIM creator extraordinaire Cecesaun AND Samuel of DHFS, who will be featured in our very first “Architectural Spotlight”.
And of course we all know that the perfect accessory will be the one you will be kissing under the mistletoe… so don’t miss out on Superpogimon’s fabulous Menswear picks for the season as well.
With a bit of everything for everyone…we are sure that this issue will quickly become a favourite! With that said, I would like to add a special thank you to all the staff members who made it happen and would also like to wish all of them a wonderful holiday season filled with love.
With summer officially waning and the fall fashion scene now in full swing, many of us have began the lamentable task of preparing ourselves for the new season and all the transitions that it may bring. To many, the fall season is one of sadness as we seem to have nothing to look forward to but the upcoming holiday season – which , lets face it, is just still too far away to pull us out of our funk. BUT to the well heeled Fashionista, Fall brings about a much anticipated revitalization of ones self – a new beginning if you will – that can at times be as euphoric as the ushering in of the summer heat. So don’t despair – there is STILL plenty to look forward to!
This seasons’ fashion world isn’t the only thing going through a “transition” SF Magazine has also been going through a few changes and some much needed growth. With that said, we are happy to announce the arrival of several new staff members: Dusty Dreamer, Aikea Guinea, Jasumi and SylentWhysper – all multi-talented members of our community who graciously agreed to join our little family and whose presence will no doubt help enrich the content of our magazine even further. So as you flip through the pages, don’t miss out on their inaugural pieces as they help bring world – SF Fall Fashion Trends with a twist of the macabre, just in time for the Halloween Season!
Also, make sure you read along as Asiashamecca takes a moment to sit down with the creative mind behind Shakeproductions and Model Creator sweetheart, Jaedub, to find out a bit more about their passions for designing and creating for such a demanding community and some of their exciting upcoming projects. Also featured in this months issue, the creative styling of Circa Sim an Model Cassidy Williams in their aptly named spread “Good vs Evil”. And for the gentleman…(no, we did not forget you!) don’t miss out on Pogi’s ” The Master” spread! It will surely delight!
So, go ahead, and do what you REALLY came here to do…flip to your hearts content. And enjoy the eye candy prepared just for your viewing pleasure – an early treat for your eager Trick or Treaters!
The Collection Issue was created to support the common goal of invigorating the Sims 3 design scene by assembling teams of artists and fashion designers in a creative, community-based project, the culmination of which is a highly stylized, special edition of our magazine.
This Edition features works from some of the Sims 3 design communities TOP Designers including: Judie from All About Style, Hasel from TSR, Icia Designs and much much more ! This Special Edition Issue also features some of the communitie’s most talented photographers, who all gracious agreed to participate in this project with us. To ALL of you – designers and collaborators, we send the most HEARTFELT of thanks as this would not have happened without you.
Also a GREAT big thanks to my dedicated staffers who managed to make this happen again- in what seems to always be the most interesting of circumstances. I hope you all know how much I appreciate all your work in this endeavour and your patience. So without further ado… The Collections Issue!
Its June – YAY – and time to say buh-bye to single digit weather and hullo to summer! Even though its about a billion degrees outside, I can’t think of anything better than slapping on a pair of cut-offs, my fave pair of aviator Ray-bans and hopping into my car with my windows rolled down with my music blaring , whilst driving to nowhere in particular.. Ahhh the freedom…
No matter how you wanna put it, the summer sun is something we all look forward to and celebrate. Its the season where we truly get to be creative and expert.ment, whether it be with our wardrobes and/or makeup – or we can just say to heck with it all and let the sun do all the work. We at SF are happy to be celebrating summer and to start you off just right, we have got some awesome summer dresses and tops in this months “Fab Finds” section, swimsuits galore in Asia’s hot “Wild Kingdom” shoot, as well as exclusive interviews with Sims3 Community Fashion Designer Extraordinaire Rustynail; CStyles sweetheart – Miss Lochness and community up and comer, Chris Efron. And of course, for those of you looking for something a little more Haute fashion, check out Circa’s debut editorial – “Sad` Away”, a nautical themed editorial sure to help you kick off those heels, feel the sand between your toes and join us in our summer state of mind…
